Word Counter
Count characters, words and lines as you type.
Generate placeholder text for layouts and mockups.
Generates placeholder text by paragraph, sentence or word count for layout previews.
Three granularities — paragraphs, sentences and words — each with a count. A sentence is **5–14 words**, and a paragraph is **4–7 sentences**.
Every run is different: the text is **randomly assembled** from a word list rather than being the fixed classic passage, so the same mock-up generated twice differs. Copy the result if you need to freeze it.
The word and character counts are reported, which is how you match a design that specifies a fill length.
Pick a granularity
Paragraphs for body text, words for headings and buttons, sentences when you need to fine-tune line count.
Set the count and generate
The count is how many of that unit you get; regenerating produces a fresh version.
Copy into your design or prototype
The output is plain text, ready for Figma, a prototype or a template.
The tradition goes back to sixteenth-century printing, where a fragment of Cicero was used for specimen pages: the point is to let people **see the layout instead of reading the content**. Real words invite judgement about the message, while Latin is instantly recognisable as filler. It also stops placeholder copy from being mistaken for final text.
No — and leftover placeholder text is one of the classic embarrassing bugs. Search for `lorem` (case-insensitive) before releasing. It is also pure noise to a **screen reader**, so if accessibility matters either hide it with `aria-hidden` or write meaningful stand-in copy such as "product summary goes here".

Strip extra spaces, blank lines and stray markup in one pass.
Drop repeated lines and leave the list unique.
