HTTP Status Codes
Look up what each HTTP response status code means.
See your public IP address and where it resolves to.
Shows your public IP, ISP and approximate location. One of the few tools here that needs the network — the panel says so.
With the field empty it looks up **your own outbound IP** (the address the outside world sees); enter one and it looks that up instead — the panel carries a "needs network" badge because it genuinely calls an external service.
A dozen fields at once: IP and version, city/region/country, time zone, currency, postal code, latitude and longitude, **ISP/ASN** and the primary language.
Private and reserved addresses (`192.168.*`, `10.*`, `100.64.0.0/10` and friends) are not in any public IP database, so the lookup returns an error rather than inventing a location.
Leave it blank or type an IP
Blank looks up your own address; you can also paste any public IPv4 or IPv6 address.
Run the lookup
Results are listed field by field and each one can be copied.
Weigh the accuracy
City-level data is usable; the coordinates are city-centre, not your position — see below.
City level at best, and the coordinates are usually the centre of that city or of the ISP's facility rather than your location. Three common distortions: behind a VPN or proxy you see the exit datacentre; a corporate or carrier IP may report a registered office instead of the actual one; and mobile networks shift between cities. It therefore **cannot locate a specific person** — that is a limit of IP geolocation data itself.
A third party does: this tool calls `ipapi.co`, so both the address you look up and your own request pass through it. Almost every tool on this site runs entirely in the browser; this is one of the few exceptions, and the "needs network" badge on the panel is exactly that warning. If that matters to you, do not look up sensitive addresses here, or run your own IP database.
