CSV to YAML
Transform CSV rows into YAML for configuration and data exchange.
Convert CSV table data into JSON arrays and objects.
Parses CSV properly — quoted fields, embedded newlines and escapes — with a header-row toggle and a configurable delimiter.
Every value stays a string: `1` comes out as `"1"` and `true` as `"true"`. CSV carries no type information, and guessing would turn `010` into `10` and an 18-digit order number into scientific notation.
The header row names the keys: a column with an empty header falls back to a position name like `col2`, and a short row is padded with empty strings instead of shifting the rest of the row.
Quoted fields follow the CSV rules (embedded commas, newlines, `""` escaping), the delimiter can be `;` or `|`, and the header can be switched off so the first row is data (keys become `col1…`).
Paste the CSV
The first row is treated as the header, and its titles become the JSON keys.
Adjust the options
Point the delimiter at `;` for exports from European Excel, or switch off "first row is a header" for headerless data.
Copy the JSON
The output is a pretty-printed array of objects, ready to paste into an API call or a program.
On purpose: CSV has no type information, and auto-converting destroys leading zeros (`007` → `7`) and long identifiers (an order number loses precision as a float). Convert downstream — `Number(...)` after `JSON.parse` — instead of guessing here.
For a flat array of objects, yes. Nested objects are not flattened on the way back (see the json-to-csv page), so do not expect CSV → JSON → CSV to preserve nesting.
